Privacy policy

Effective date: 24 August 2026

African Technopreneurs (Pty) Ltd t/a 180by2 is the responsible party for personal information processed through 180by2, unless another party is identified for a specific service. This policy explains how we process personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), the ECT Act and other applicable law.

1. Personal information we collect

  • Identity and contact information, including your name, delivery and billing addresses, email address and telephone number.
  • Order, transaction and payment-related information. Card details are generally processed by the payment provider rather than stored by us in full.
  • Account, product-interest, support, return, warranty and communication records.
  • Device, browser, IP address, cookie, analytics, advertising and website-usage information.
  • Information received from Shopify, payment providers, couriers, suppliers, marketing platforms, fraud-prevention providers and other service providers involved in the transaction or service.

2. Why we process personal information

  • To provide quotations, process orders and payments, deliver products, provide support, and manage returns, refunds, repairs and warranties.
  • To communicate service messages and respond to enquiries or complaints.
  • To secure the store, prevent fraud, keep records and comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
  • To improve our website, products, services and customer experience.
  • To send direct marketing where permitted by law and according to your choices. You may opt out of marketing at any time.

3. Legal grounds and minimality

We process personal information where it is necessary to conclude or perform a contract, comply with law, protect a legitimate interest, pursue our legitimate business interests in a lawful manner, or where you have consented. We aim to collect information that is adequate, relevant and not excessive for the stated purpose.

4. Sharing personal information

We may share information with service providers and operators that help us run the store, including Shopify, payment providers, couriers, suppliers, IT and cloud providers, analytics and marketing providers, professional advisers and authorities where required by law. We require appropriate confidentiality, security and processing safeguards where applicable.

We do not sell personal information. If a business transfer, restructuring or similar transaction occurs, information may be transferred subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

5. Cross-border processing

Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure the transfer is permitted by POPIA and that appropriate protection is in place.

6. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for essential store functions, preferences, measurement, fraud prevention and, where permitted, advertising. Cookie choices may be available through the website or browser. Blocking essential cookies may affect store functionality.

7. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No system is completely secure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose, an applicable contract, dispute management, or a legal or regulatory requirement, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified where appropriate.

8. Your POPIA rights

Subject to POPIA, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access, request correction or deletion, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain about our processing. Contact info@180by2.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Children

The store is not directed at children under 18. Where the law requires consent from a competent person for a child’s information, we will seek that consent or another lawful basis.

10. Complaints and Information Officer

Send privacy questions, requests or complaints to info@180by2.co.za. We will acknowledge and investigate the matter and provide the applicable escalation route.

Information Officer: Daliso Ngoma
Email: info@180by2.co.za

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) using the Regulator’s current official contact details and complaint process.
