The Insta360 Luna Ultra is the brand's first flagship pocket gimbal camera, co-engineered with Leica and built around a dual-lens system that pairs a 1-inch 8K main sensor with a dedicated pro-grade telephoto lens. Three-axis mechanical stabilisation, a Triple AI Chip and an industry-first detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen make it a serious all-in-one for creators who want cinematic image quality, real telephoto reach and effortless framing without carrying a full mirrorless rig. The Cosmic Black finish gives it a clean, understated look that disappears into any kit bag
Key Features
-
Dual Leica Summicron lens system — A 1-inch CMOS main sensor handles wide, detail-rich footage, while a separate 1/1.3-inch telephoto sensor adds genuine optical reach and natural background compression for flattering, depth-filled shots.
-
8K30 Dolby Vision video — Records up to 8K at 30fps with 10-bit colour, Dolby Vision HDR and a 10-bit I-Log profile, plus roughly 14 stops of dynamic range for maximum grading flexibility in post.
-
Triple AI chip — Three dedicated processors (two for imaging, one for system tasks) drive cleaner low-light capture, fast subject focus and AI tracking accurate enough for fast-moving action.
-
Up to 12x zoom, 6x lossless — Covers five essential focal lengths, with up to 6x lossless zoom and 12x hybrid reach for tighter framing without swapping lenses.
-
Detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen — The bright OLED screen detaches to act as a wireless remote and live monitor, with HD transmission up to roughly 20 m (65 ft) for solo and remote shooting.
-
3-axis stabilisation with AI tracking — Mechanical gimbal stabilisation plus electronic IS keeps footage smooth, while Deep Track subject tracking locks onto your subject and holds it.
-
True-to-life portraits & signature colours — Built-in Leica colour profiles, cinematic filters and a refined Beauty mode deliver natural skin tones and ready-to-share looks straight out of camera.
-
Pro audio ready — A 4-microphone array with pre-installed wind guard captures clean sound, and the camera connects to Insta360 Mic Pro / Mic Air transmitters for upgraded wireless audio.
-
All-day power, fast top-ups — A 1,550mAh battery delivers up to 4 hours of use and fast-charges to 80% in about 23 minutes via USB-C.
